Wuxi Municipal Population and Family Planning Commission, Wuxi 214131 , China) Abstract: Wuxi , a city of large population transferred from rural areas, has shown a series of new features in the scale and distribution of floating people , and their employment structure in recent years. According to the actual situation of Wuxi , this paper makes a scientific calculation of public financial investment cost in urbanization of transferred rural population , based on which some constructive suggestions are put forward. First , residential system must be reformed to gradually solve the problems of urban identity and treatment of transferred rural population. Second, key and difficult links must be focused on to promote equalization of basic public services among transferred rural population.
