Therecentdevelopmentofthreedimensional(3D)displaytechnologieshasresultedinaproliferationof3Dvideoproductionand broadcasting,attractingalotofresearchintocapture,compressionanddeliveryofstereoscopiccontent.However,thepredominant designpracticeofinteractionswith3Dvideocontenthasfailedtoaddressitsdi?erencesandpossibilitiesincomparisontothe existing2Dvideointeractions.Thispaperpresentsastudyofuserrequirementsrelatedtointeractionwiththestereoscopic3D video.Thestudysuggeststhatthechangeofview,zoomin/out,dynamicvideobrowsing,andtextualinformationarethemost relevantinteractionswithstereoscopic3Dvideo.Inaddition,weidenti?edastrongdemandforobjectselectionthatresultedin afollow-upstudyofuserpreferencesin3Dselectionusingvirtual-handandray-castingmetaphors.Theseresultsindicatethat interactionmodalitya?ectsusers’decisionofobjectselectionintermsofchosenlocationin3D,whileuserattitudesdonothave signi?cantimpact.Furthermore,theray-casting-basedinteractionmodalityusingWiimotecanoutperformthevolume-based interactionmodalityusingmouseandkeyboardforobjectpositioningaccuracy. 1.Introduction intuitiveinteractionfor3Dvideocontent.Inthispaper,we followthemethodologyoutlinedinourpreviouspaper[1] by initially eliciting user requirements of stereoscopic 3D videointeracti
