Asingle-stepenvironmentalfriendlyapproachisemployedtosynthesizesilvernanoparticles.Thebiomoleculesfoundinplants + induce the reduction of Ag ions from silver nitrate to silver nanoparticles (AgNPs). UV-visible spectrum of the aqueous mediumcontainingsilverionsdemonstratedapeakat425nmcorrespondingtotheplasmonabsorbanceofsilvernanoparticles. Transmissionelectronmicroscopy(TEM)showedtheformationofwell-dispersedsilvernanoparticlesintherangeof5–20nm.X- raydi?raction(XRD)spectrumoftheAgNPsexhibited2θvaluescorrespondingtothesilvernanocrystal.Theprocessofreduction isextracellularandfastwhichmayleadtothedevelopmentofeasybiosynthesisofsilvernanoparticles.Plantsduringglycolysis + producealargeamountofH ionsalongwithNADwhichactsasastrongredoxingagent;thisseemstoberesponsibleforthe formationofAgNPs.Water-solubleantioxidativeagentslikeascorbicacidsfurtherseemtoberesponsibleforthereduct
