Purpose.Thepurposeofthisstudyistoinvestigatewhethertheclinicopathologicalbiopsy?ndingscanpredicttheoncological outcomeinpatientswhoundergoradicalprostatectomy.MaterialsandMethods.BetweenJanuary1997andMarch2006,255 patientswith clinicallylocalizedadenocarcinomaoftheprostate(clinicalT1-3N0M0)whohadundergoneretropubicradical prostatectomywereenrolledinthisstudy.Noneofthepatientsreceivedneoadjuvantoradjuvanttherapy.Clinicopathological parameterswereassessedtodetermineapredictiveparameterofbiochemicalrecurrence.Results.Ofthetotal255patients,77 showedbiochemicalrecurrenceduringthefollow-upperiod.Theestimated5-yearoverallsurvival,5-yearcause-speci?csurvival, and5-yearbiochemicalrecurrence-freesurvivalrateswere97.7%,99.5%,and67.3%,respectively.Multivariateanalysisusingthe Coxproportionalhazardsmodelshowedthatcalculatedcancervolumewasanindependentpredictoramongthepreoperative clinicopathologicalparameters(P0.05).SVIandPSMwereindependentpredictorsamongthepostoperativeparameters(SVI; P0.
