Obesityisoneofseveralfactorsimplicatedinthegenesisofdiabeticnephropathy(DN).Obese,hypertensive,type 2diabetic ratsSHR/NDmcr-cpweregiven,for12weeks,eitheranormal,middle-carbohydrate/middle-fatdiet(MC/MFgroup)orahigh- carbohydrate/low-fatdiet(HC/LFgroup).Dailycaloricintakewasthesameinbothgroups.Nevertheless,theHC/LFgroupgained less weight.
