Objectives.Thestudyaimedtoassesstherelationshipbetweenbodyfatandeachofbodymassindex(BMI)andwaistcircumference (WC),andtotestthee?ectivenessoffatmass(FM),percentofbodyfat(PBF),BMI,andWCinpredictinghighlevelsoffasting bloodglucose(FBG).Methods.Atotalof167adolescentsaged11–17yearswererecruitedfromRabatregion.BMIandWCwere determinedusingstandardequipments.FMandPBFwerederivedfromisotopedilutiontechnique.FBGwasdeterminedbythe hexokinasemethod.Results.Regardlessoftheweightstatus,BMIshowedastrongpositivecorrelationwithFMandPBFinboth genders.WCwassigni?cantlycorrelatedwithFMinboysandgirls,andwithPBFindi?erentgroupsofgirlsandboysofthestudy sample.However,therewasnosigni?cantrelationshipbetweenWCandPBFinnormalweightandoverweight-obesegroupsof boys.FBGwashighlycorrelatedwithFMandPBFingirlsofthestudysampleandinoverweight-obesegirls.Similarsigni?cant relationshipbetweenFBGandbothBMIandWCwasobservedinoverweight-obesegirls,whiletherewasnosigni?cantassociation
