The construction of a speci?c splitting-type preconditioner in block formulation applied to a class ofgroup relaxation iterative methods derived fromthecentred androtated skewed?nite di?erenceapproximations hasbeenshowntoimprovetheconvergence ratesofthesemethods. In this paper, we present some theoretical convergence analysis on this preconditioner speci?cally applied to the linear systems resulted from these group iterative schemes in solving an elliptic boundaryvalueproblem.Wewilltheoreticallyshowtherelationshipbetweenthespectralradiuses of the iteration matrices of the preconditioned methods which a?ects the rate of convergence of these methods.
