Anovelcore-shellstructureofsiliconnanorods/carbonnanotubes(SiNRs/CNTs)isdevelopedforusein?eldemissioncathodes. The CNTs were synthesized on SiNRs, using the Ag-assisted electroless etching technique to form the SiNRs/CNT core-shell structure. This resulting SiNRs/CNT ?eld emission cathode demonstrated improved ?eld emission properties including a 2 2 lowerturn-onelectric?eldEon (1.3V/μm,1μA/cm ),alowerthresholdelectric?eldEth (1.8V/μm,1mA/cm ),andahigher enhancementfactorβ(2347).Thesesuperiorpropertiesindicatethatthiscore-shellstructureofSiNRs/CNTshasgoodpotential in?eldemissioncathodeapplications. 1.Introduction screen printing, the spray method, and composite plating [18–22].
