Objective and Methods: The objective of this study was to explore the association between BDKRB2258T/C gene polymorphismandEH.Ameta-analysisof11studieswith3882subjectswasconducted.Pooledoddsratios(ORs)forthe associationbetweenBDKRB2258T/CgenepolymorphismandEHandtheircorresponding95%confidenceintervals(CIs) wereestimatedusingtherandomeffectsmodel. Results: The BDKRB2258T/C gene polymorphism was significantly correlated with EH under an allelic genetic model (OR=1.24, 95% CI=1.05–1.46; P=0.01), a dominant genetic model (OR=0.65, 95% CI=0.47–0.90; P=0.01), a recessive geneticmodel(OR=1.146,95%CI=1.035–1.269;P=0.009),ahomozygotegeneticmodel(OR=1.134,95%CI=1.048–1.228; P=0.002),andaheterozygotegeneticmodel(OR=1.060,95%CI=1.009–1.112;P=0.019). Conclusions:TheBDKRB2258T/CgenepolymorphismisassociatedwithincreasedEHrisk.Theresultsofthisstudysuggest thatcarriersofthe258CallelearesusceptibletoEH.
