Design:Across-sectionalstudy. Methodology/PrincipalFindings:Onehundredandeighteyes(54subjects)ofMalaychildrenwithoutdiagnosisofocular abnormality or disease meeting our inclusion and exclusion criteria were selected. The CCT and IOP were measured by specularmicroscopyandnon-contactair-pufftonometryrespectively,foranalysisandcomparisonwiththevaluesobtained inpreviousstudies.MeanCCTandIOPwasfoundtobe530.87630.79mmand15.6563.05mmHgrespectively.CCTwas foundnottovarywithage.ApositiverelationshipwasfoundbetweenCCTandIOP;specifically,withevery100-mmincrease inCCT,IOPincreasedby3.5mmHg. Conclusions/Significance:CCTandIOParestronglyrelatedinhealthyMalaychildrenaged8to16.ThemeanCCTofMalay childrenislowerthanthatofmajoritychildrenofotherethnicgroups,supportingtheexistenceofCCTvariationamong different populationsandthat ethnicityshould be akey considerationwhen applyingCCT datatothegeneral pediatric population.
