ResearchinTropicalDiseases.Funds forsecondlineanti-TBdrugswere providedbythePhilippines DepartmentofHealth,the PhilippinesCharitySweepstakes Office,UnitedLaboratories, BarangaySanLorenzo,andfriendsof theTropicalDiseaseFoundation.The fundershadnoroleinstudydesign, datacollectionandanalysis,decision topublish,orpreparationofthe manuscript. Methodology/PrincipalFindings Weevaluatedthefeasibility,effectiveness,cost,andcost-effectivenessofaDOTS-Pluspilot projectestablishedatMakatiMedicalCenterinManila,thePhilippines,in1999.Patientswith MDR-TBaretreatedwithregimens,includingfirst-andsecond-linedrugs,tailoredtotheirdrug susceptibility pattern (i.e., individualised treatment). We considered the cohort enrolled betweenApril1999andMarch2002.Duringthisthree-yearperiod,118patientswereenrolled intheproject;117wereconsideredintheanalysis.Seventy-onepatients(
