Method:Dataweretakenfrom271patientswhoreceivedtheDIALOGintervention.Allpatientswerediagnosed withschizophreniaorarelateddisorderandtreatedincommunitymentalhealthcare.ForSQOLandtreatment satisfactionasassessedintheDIALOGintervention,weestablishedtheinternalconsistency(Cronbach’salpha),the convergentvalidityofSQOLitems(correlationwithManchesterShortAssessmentofQualityofLife[MANSA])and treatmentsatisfactionitems(correlationwithClientSatisfactionQuestionnaire[CSQ]),theconcurrentvalidity (correlationswithPositiveandNegativeSyndromeScale[PANSS])andthesensitivitytochange(t-testcomparing ratingsofthefirstandlastintervention).WealsoexploredthefactorialstructureoftheeightSQOLitems. Results:TheinternalconsistencyoftheeightSQOLitemswas.71andofthethreetreatmentsatisfactionitems.57. SQOLscoreswerecorrelatedwiththeMANSA(r=.95)andPANSSscores(generalpsychopathology:r=?.37, positivesymptoms:r=?.27,negativesymptoms:r=?.27).Treatmentsatisfactionscoreswerecorrelatedwiththe CSQ(r=0.36)andthePANSS(r=?.29,-.20,-.20).SQOLandtreatmentsatisfactionscoreimprovedsignificantlyover time.SQOLitemsloadedontwomeaningfulfactors,onecapturinghealthandpersonalsafetyandonereflecting otherlifedomains.
