Unit 14 Contracts A contract is an agreement that defines a relationship between one or more parties. The essence of a contract is the mutual understanding reached by two parties who hold adverse positions against each other. A contract, once signed, is enforced by law. Any party that fails to fulfill its contract obligations may be ordered to make compensation. Contract can be formal and informal. Formal contracts require certain formalities, mostly made for large or important details. Formal contracts should state ail (trouble) terms and conditions agreed upon by the parties and listing the rights and obligations of the two parties and all matters concerning the transaction.
