Activity in the intraparietal sulcus, as measured by functional magnetic resonance imaging, was associated with the illusion suggesting a sensory coding role whereas activity in the middleoccipitalgyrusdifferentiallymodulatedactivityaccordingtothedecisionsmadebysubjectsconsistentwiththeir reportedperceptualphenomenology.
