We propose that the coalescence of crosslinked actin clusters could be key for sarcomeric pattern formation. In our simulations, sarcomere spacingissetbyfilamentlengthpromptingtightlengthcontrolalreadyatearlystagesofpatternformation.Theproposed mechanismcouldbegenericandapplybothtopremyofibrilsandnascentmyofibrilsindevelopingmusclecellsaswellas possiblytostriatedstress-fibersinnon-musclecells.
