Abstract
Background:Surfactantsarechemicalswithahighproductionvolumeandawidedispersiveuse,i.e.surfactants
haveahighenvironmentalimpact.Mostcommercialsurfactantsareaerobicallybiodegradable.Onlyasmallfraction
ofthesurfactantsisnotaerobicallybrokendownduringtheusualhydraulicretentiontimesofmodernWWTPs.
