Abstract
Background:Abalancedcompositionofaminoacidsinseedflouriscriticalbecauseofthedemandonessential
aminoacidsfornutrition.However,seedproteinsincerealslikemaize,thecropwiththehighestyield,arelowin
lysine,tryptophan,andmethionine.Althoughsupplementationwithlegumeslikesoybeancancompensatelysine
deficiency,bothcropsarealsorelativelylowinmethionine.Therefore,understandingthemechanismof
methionineaccumulationintheseedcouldbeabasisforbreeding
