On its course of development, physical education ideologies such as women orientated physical education ideology, education characterized physical education ideology, and women physical education popularization, were mainly formed. By referring to a lot of related literature data, on the basis of collating the course of development and physical education ideologies of the education for the physical education major in Jinling Women College, the authors summed up that the historical contributions of the education include such three major aspects as boosting the development of the women movement in China, cultivating early women physical education processionals in China, having important inspiration and reference meanings for physical education cur- riculum reform in China, which still have a positive meaning
