Methods:Inthisdouble-blindstudy,twovolunteergroupsof17EHSand20non-EHSsubjectswere simultaneouslyinvestigatedforphysiologicalchanges(heartrate,heartratevariability,andrespirationrate),eight subjectivesymptoms,andperceptionofRF-EMFsduringrealandshamexposuresessions.Experimentswere conductedusingadummyphonecontainingaWCDMAmodule(averagepower,24dBmat1950MHz;specific absorptionrate,1.57W/kg)withinaheadsetplacedontheheadfor32min. Results:WCDMARF-EMFsgeneratednophysiologicalchangesorsubjectivesymptomsineithergroup.Therewas noevidencethatEHSsubjectsperceivedRF-EMFsbetterthannon-EHSsubjects. Conclusions:Consideringtheanalyzedphysiologicaldata,thesubjectivesymptomssurveyed,andthepercentages ofthosewhobelievedtheywerebeingexposed,32minofRFradiationemittedbyWCDMAmobilephones demonstratednoeffectsineitherEHSornon-EHSsubjects.
