Methods:WecomparedtheimmunohistochemistryofPKPsin34gastricadenocarcinomasand20normalgastric tissues. Results:Ingastriccancer,PKP1expressionwasunchangedbutPKP2andPKP3weresignificantlydecreasedas comparedtonormalcontrols.TherewasnoobservableclinicalassociationwithPKP1orPKP2expression;however, lowPKP3levelandpoorprognosisappearedtocorrelatewithregardstonodenumberandtumorstage.The meandisease-freesurvival(DFS)was38±3months(range:32-44)andmeanoverallsurvival(OS)42±4months (range:38-50).DecreasedPKP2appearedtonegativelyimpactDFS.
