-翻lì幸i 虫!篇 社会学视角下的中国 近代翻译场域 西南财经大学经贸外语学院 邵 璐 摘 要:布边厄的社会学理论可以用来观照和分析中国近代翻 译史。本文从布边厄社会学的一般研究方法谈起，详细介绍翻译社 会学的核心理论场域理论，并将该理论运用于中国近代翻译史研究， 考查中国近代翻译场域的具体特征，探讨翻译文化和社会层次在概 念使用中的区别，分析文化和社会的实践，以及它们带来的理论和 方法论上的影响。本文指出，我们不能将上述两个概念截然分开: 如果我们只关注社会，而忽视把翻译塑造成文化实践，就会 忽视权利、意识形态等因素。由此，我们在翻译社会学这一翻译学 的新领域可以避免方法论问题。 关键词:社会学;中国近代翻译史;翻译场域 Abstract: Bourdieus theory of sociology can be employed to the study of the history of translation in China (1 894-1916). Based on the conceptual framework of Bourdieus general science of practices and its methodological agenda , and by transporting the theory of fields from sociology to translation studies , this article, examines some of the most outstanding features of the translation field on the Chinese arena (1 894-1916). The paper believes that methodological problems may arise if we focus on the sociallevel yet neglect the conditions that mould trans- lation as a cultural practice in terms of power or ideology , and that the creation of a new sub-discipline within translation studies called the sociology of translation would sidestep the problems of methodology. Key words: sociology; history of translation in modern China; field of translation 1.引 言 为何社会学家迟迟未将翻译作为其研究对象，而翻译学者又久 久未能从社会学角度展开翻译研究?西梅奥尼(Simeoni , 2007: J 13)[I 提出了这个发人深省的问题。从各学科的发展史我们可以看 到，无论是研究方法，还是界定研究对象是否为正确的世界观， 都是人为创造或自其他思维系统传承而来。社会学产生于某种地缘 政治中，即在某一特定时期产生于某一特定地区，民族与国家体制 决定
