Normally all faces are washed except the back side of the final ME because the wash water will end up in the outlet duct. Wash coverage refers to the amount of overlap that occurs from the wash spray of adjacent wash nozzles. A correctly designed wash system will have 150 to 200% overlap. Wash intensity and pressure are measures of the amount of water and pressure used for washing. Typical design values are 1.5 gpm per square foot of ME surface for wash water intensity, and 40 to 50 psi for wash pressure. * *
