Introduction What is knowledge work?(2) Brinkley(2009) points out that knowledge work is man or woman who applies to productive work ideas, concepts, and information rather than manual skill or brawn. Thomas (2005) defines knowledge workers are workers whose main capital is knowledge. Typical examples may include engineers, scientists, public accountants, lawyers, and academics, whose jobs are to think for a living knowledge workers VS industrial workers 1.workplace different knowledge workers VS industrial workers 2.the way of learning knowledge workers VS industrial workers 3.reward management Knowledge workers usually have higher wage than industrial workers. Drucker’s (1999)six major factors about knowledge work productivity(1) Knowledge worker productivity demands that we ask the question: What is the task? 2.Knowledge workers have to manage themselves. 3. Continuing innovation has to be part of their work, the task and the responsibility of knowledge workers.
