Our factory is a long-term production of stainless steel hardware, which is mainly used to connect the ball valves and fittings of the fluid. The castings require the detection of air tightness, the castings must not have pores, shrinkage holes, shrinkage defects. In the production, the reject rate of castings is controlled by about 1.2%. In April 2010, the base of the cast-gate was reduced to a hole in the base of a large batch of castings, a month after the switch from a heavy oil roaster to an electric roaster. The rate of scrap rose from 1.2% to 12%. Greatly improving the quality failure cost, caused huge economic losses to the enterprise, to adopt a series of measures to make waste effectively control control are obtained. In this paper, a one-piece ball valve casting is analyzed.
The structure of the castings and the original process plan
Gating system
1 ball type ball valve, the material is 304, 316, for export precision, dimension and quality surface are strict. Using silica sol investment casting production process, shell thickness of 4 to 7 mm, electric furnace roasting, calcination temperature is 1050 ℃, pouring temperature 1580 ℃. The original process is shown in figure 1.
