It is also mi portant for landslide stability and construction design. Thebasic type of landsliding-surface is categorized to rock surface, sedmi ent surface, and soil surface. Thegeological characters of landsliding-surface can be classified as smooth friction surface, striation, mudding zone and diamond shearingwedgew ith directional range. Based on this classification, it is generated that themain methods for landsliding-surface identification containsmechanicalanaly- sis, field geology judgment, site exploration, displacement monitoring and geophysical detection. Applicability of thesemethods is also discussed in the paper.
