Methods 　Fort yone p a tient s wit h advanced ga st ric cancer were randomized and divided into two group s. Group A con si st ed of 19 p atient s received Docet axe plu s Xeloda and group B wit h 22 p atient s received Oxalip latin p lu s Xeloda . The t reat ment wa s rep eat ed every 3 week s until di sea se p ro gression or limiting toxicities. Two or more cycles chemot herap y were comp let ed for all of p atient s. Results 　Fort yone p atient s were a ssessable for efficacy and toxicities. In group A and B ,t he respon se rat e ( CR + PR) wa s 52 . 63 % and 54 . 55 % ,re sp ectively . The median p rogressionf ree survival in group A wa s similar to t hat in group B (6 . 1 mont h s vs. 6 . 3 mont h s , Log Rank = 1. 99 , P = 0 . 1588) .
