Robin Hood课件
Robin Hood Robin Hood is a heroic outlaw in English folklore. A highly skilled archer and swordsman , he is known for robbing from the rich and giving to the poor, assisted by a group of fellow outlaws known as his Merry Men . Traditionally in films Robin and his men are depicted wearing Lincoln green clothes. In popular culture, Robin Hood and his band of merry men are usually portrayed as living in Sherwood Forest, in Nottinghamshire, where much of the actions in the early ballads take place. Robin Hood —First reference The first clear reference to rhymes of Robin Hood is from the late 14th-century poem Piers Plowman , but the earliest surviving copies of the narrative ballads which tell his story have been dated to the 15th century or the first decade of the 16th century. Robin hood the man Robin Hood was a Saxon noble, living near the castle of Nottingham. By various means he was forced into a life of banditry, using his cunning and skill-at-arms to relieve the oppressed peasants. Along with being a middle-ages Communist, Robin spends his time fighting the cruel Sheriff of Nottingham, and, ultimately, King John, who had usurped the throne from the rightful King, Richard I . Robin Hood was cheerful, just and fair, chivalrous, God-fearing, patriotic and hotheaded. He was also dignified, well-mannered, gracious and a master archer who could split a peeled willow stick with an arrow at 400 paces. Changes to the Legend Classic characters such as Maid Marian, Friar Tuck and Alan a Dale were all later additions to the greenwood folklore. The Robin Hood of the early ballads is very different from the Robin Hoods of Errol Flynn and Kevin Costner. He doesnt steal taxes. He doesnt always rob from the rich to give money to the poor. He doesnt fight to overthrow Norman tyranny. There was a curious side effect to Robin Hoods improving reputation. He was thought to be a good man and very noble. Somewhere along the line Robin Hood was went from being noble to being a noble
