China Tobacco Henan Industrial Lmi ited Company, Zhengzhou 450000, China) Abs tract: Using two- factor exper mi ent of p ick ing tmi e and common curing equipm ent ( common curing barn, sem i- dense cur ing barn and bu lk curing barn), the chem ical composition, rate of superior m iddle grade tobacco lea es and sensory quality of cured tobacco lea es w ere analyzed. The resu lt show ed that all types of curing barns could cure ideal quality tobacco lea es; if properly built, curing equipment could not be classified as the best and the worst, w hich could ach ie e the best curing effect on ly in the appropriate maturity conditions. The technologicalmaturity corresponding to thd best curing effect of curing barn w as the maturity needing to be increased along w ith the increase of load ing density. K ey w or
