Abstract: Objective: To explore the secondary pollution status of instruments packed with talc gloves in our CSSD. Methods: Totally 100 instruments packages were packed by two different methods, 50 packages using talc gloves directly, the others using talc gloves after water flushing. Then secondary talc pollution of all packages were checked. The pollution levels was defined based on three different check methods, level 1 pollution ( talc could only be observed by high power lens), level 2 pollution (talc could be observed by both high power lens and magnifying glass), and level 3 pollution (talc could also be seen by naked eyes besides the other two methods). Results: The instruments packages using talc gloves after water flushing were significant less polluted compared with using talc gloves directly (p0.001).Conclusion: The instruments packed using talc gloves after water flushing showed nearly no talc pollution. Water flushing was an effective way to clean the talc from gloves.
