ShanghaiUniversity, Shanghai200072, China) A bstract: The influence of light sulfurized castor oil ( adding 015% S, 1% S, 2% S, 3% S) on the tribological and rheo- logical characteristics, biodegradability, and thermal oxidation stability was studied. The results show that the viscosity of light sulfurized castor oil is increased andVI is decreased; the pour point is raised, but the unsaturated degree and iodine number is decreased; w ith the increase of sulfur content, tribological characteristic and oxidation stability are mi proved, but biodegradability is decreased.
