Lesson Plan of Unit 4 Earthquake (第2课时) 教材内容分析 覆盖内容:Pre-reading and reading 教材分析:本课时的主要容是让学生了解唐山大地震发生前的异象,地震发生后对整个城市的破坏,和接着的全国军民大救援等。那么在阅读的过程中让学生进一步学会使用恰当的阅读方法,快速有效的进行阅读。最后通过阅读让学生学会对自然界的突发境遇能提前做好准备,让更多的人获得求生的机会,减少或避免不必要的损失。 教学目标 ·Let students know some natural signs of a coming disaster. ·Let students know how the earthquake destroyed the city. ·Let students know how to escape when the earthquake happens. 教学过程 Step1 Lead –in (class work 8 minutes) In the last class, students discussed this sentence “It’s always calm before a storm.” They knew that it may be calm before a storm but there are also many natural signs of a coming disaster. So at first let students describe some pictures on page 25.What do you think will happen before an earthquake? 【设计说明:因为第一节课学生已经讨论过唐山和旧金山地震,并且对“It’s always calm before a storm.”这句话有自己的理解,认为平静下掩盖了一些让人不易察觉的信号。所以本环节以让学生描述地震前夕动物和自然界奇特的异常变化开篇,既可以延伸上节课的内容又可引入目标文章。】 Step2 Fast-reading(class work 7 minutes) Ask students to look at the title “A night the earth didn’t sleep” and answer questions “Why the earth didn’t sleep for a night? What happened?” An earthquake happened in Tangshan on July 28,1976. Step3 Skimming(single work 9 minutes) Let students skim the passage and find the topic sentence of each paragraph Para1 Strange things were happening in the countryside of northeast Heei. Para2 At 3:42 am everything began to shake. It seemed as if the world was at an end. Para3 Everywhere they looked nearly everything was destroyed.
