Teaching Strategies on the English Writing in Middle School

摘 要
英语写作作为英语语言学习的一个重要方面,在中学英语教学中已经得到了越来越高的重视。教师在中学阶段必须重视写作,使学生在中学阶段学会和掌握英语写作的技巧和方法,为学生今后进一步深造或进入社会用英语进行交际打下良好的基础。由于写作地位的提高,给中学英语写作也提出了更高的要求。笔者选题意在表明英语写作教学在中学阶段的重要性,并在阐述学生经常出现的写作问题上指出了相应的教学策略,希望给教师和中学生一些启发。本文阐述了中学生英语写作中普遍存在的五个问题:第一,对英语写作存在心理障碍,比如畏惧心理等;第二,中学生英语作文存在大量“中国式英语”,即学生经常借用汉语思维进行英语写作,使得文中出现不符合英文习惯的句子和表达;第三,中学生在进行英语写作时经常犯言内错误,言内错误指学生在用词、造句及句法等方面经常容易犯的错误;第四,中学生在面临所给的作文题目时不知道如何审题,写出来的作文中心思想不明确;第五,中学生英语作文普遍存在内容单调贫乏的问题。针对学生存在的问题,本文给出了相应的教学策略:第一,培养学生在写作中的积极情感;第二,读写结合,以读促写;第三,培养学生的文化底蕴;第四,指导学生构思文章。

ABSTRACT
English writing, as one of the most important aspects of language acquisition, has earned increasing attention in middle school. English teacher should pay attention to writing and teach students to master the techniques and methods of writing, which will be helpful for students’ further education and communicating with others in English. As the position of writing has been improved, it requires higher teaching requirement for English writing. This thesis aims to offer some suggestions according to the main problems that often occur in students’ writing. The author hopes the teachers and students can benefit from it after reading the thesis. The paper gives clear viewpoints about the problems existed in students’ writing: 1) Psychological blockage, such as anxiety, lack of interest ; 2) Chinglish appears frequently ; 3) Intralingua error includes grammar mistake; 4) unorganized ideas; 5) Boring and dull content. Based on the problems that exist in Chinese students’ composition, this thesis puts forward four teaching strategies: 1) English teachers should foster positive emotion when they teach writing. 2) English teachers should combine writing with reading. 3) English teacher
