Abstract
Objective ：
Using Morris Water maze, immunohistochemical method as well,to discuss the
effect and action mechanism of Nao Li Su(NLS)capsule when treating the intelligent
disorder of Vascular Dementia (VD) rats, through the study of NLS capsule on
learning and memory abilities of vascular dementia rats, on hippocampus
histomorphology, on the transcription of HIF - 1α positive cells.
Methods ：
According to Olsson ’s method ,we replicated VD rats model by blocking bilateral
common carotid artery permanently and randomly classified into five groups,
namely,model group, control group, NLS capsule high group, NLS capsule low gr oup
and sham-operated group. The treatment lasted for Twenty-one days. Water maze was
used to test VD rats before and after making model and after treatment ; We observed
hippocampus histomorphology, the activity of HIF - 1α positive cells in virtue of light
microscope, HE staining, immunohistochemical.
Results ：
The learning and memory abilities of rats obviously improved (P0.01) ,the lose of
hippocampus region pyramidal cells decreased apparently; HIF-1α positive cells
decreased after treatment of high dosage NLS capsule and dihydergotoxine(P0.01).
Conclusion：
High dosage NLS capsule can improve the learning and memory ability, decrease the
expression of HIF-1α positive cells in hippocampus, It indi
