Tiger mother or Cat mother A kind of education style has caused a sensation both in America and China, that is the education of tiger mother. Tiger mother, named Amy Chua ,who is Chinese American ,is a professor of Yale university and a mother of two daughters. She came out a book called Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother recently, which introduces how she teaches her two daughters strictly with Chinese way. As we all know, what Chinese parents understand is that nothing is fun until you are good at it. To get good at anything, you have to work, and children on their own never want to work, which is why it is crucial to override their preferences, this often requires fortitude on the part of the parents because the child will resist, things are always hardest at the beginning, which is where western parents tend to give up. But if done properly, the Chinese strategy produces a virtuous circle. In America, parents talk about it endlessly. However, surprisingly, many Americans online support it, even are ready to have a try on their own children. Because they are worried about that their children will be nothing like Chinese students. When coming to China, Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother also has good sales. It seems that many Chinese support the education style of tiger mother, but, in fact Chinese parents have gradually changed their thinking, learning from the western countries. They hope their children can grow in a more democratic and more relaxing atmosphere. To my mind, as a matter of fact, my mother is a tiger mother. She is very strict with me and has a good influence on me. When I wan young, there were many things I had never allowed to do and had to do a lot of things that I really didn’t want. But in this way ,my mother let me know that I should get away with my laziness and be responsible to myself. And now, I get along with my mother very well and I love her and respect her very much.
