S E I T I BEIJING CHINA N 4-6 SEPTEMBER 2017 U T OBN/OBC Technologies and Applications R 2017 SEG OBN/OBC Technologies and Applications Workshop Driven by its superb ability to image, characterize, and monitor complex reservoir with the broadband high resolution P-P and P-S waves, OBN/OBC seismic technology has gained broader acceptance in recent years. It costs more, and is less efficient than the towed streamer seismic technology; but the industry has O demonstrated that the value of information obtained by modern OBN/OBC data often dwarfs the cost difference. Technical advantages of OBN/OBC seismic data acquisition include: converted wave, more symmetric true 3D, wider azimuth and longer offset, and multi-sensor based broadband. OBN/OBC seismic data P processing and inversion allows imaging with both P-P and P-S energy, both wide-azimuths and ultra-long offsets, using multiples as signals, and joint P-P P-S inversion. Associated with OBN/OBC seismic technology’s rapid development, are new challenges and opportunities. This workshop aims at learning the latest P technical development, sharing the experience on practical work, and promoting the OBN/OBC technology.
