This work is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution International License (CC BY). /licenses/by/4.0/ Abstract Rich tourism resources of villages and towns can accelerate the pace of urbanization through the development of rural tourism by using the urbanization mode of tourism propulsion type. Heshun township of Tengchong county is a famous tourist town of the country, the tourism industry is the dominant part in economy, and the town is a typical example of the urbanization mode of tourism propulsion type. This paper analyzes the influence of the development of rural tourism on the ur- banization process, finds out the existing problems of the development of the rural tourism and urbanization, and puts forward the countermeasures to realize the coordinated development of rural tourism and urbanization.
