Objective T o ev aluate the clinical manif estatio ns o f solidp seudopapillary tumor of the pancr eas ( SPT and ex amine the diag no sis, tr eatment and pro gnosis o f this rar e disease. Methods We retr ospectiv ely rev iew ed a ser ies of eight patients w ith SPT admitt ed in our ho spit al fr om A pril 19 80 to July 2005 . Results A ll the patients are f emale w ith mean age of 245 years ( range 18 to 34 year s w er e diag no sed w it h SPT at o ur institut ion . Clinical pr esentatio n included a palpable abdo minal mass in four pat ients and abdominal distent ion in another tw o . T w o pat ient s w ere asy mpto matic; their tumo rs w ere found incidentally o n abdominal sonog raphic ex aminatio n fo r o ther reasons . Solid and solidcy stic masses of low echo w er e found in pancreas in ultr aso nic ex aminatio ns . CT scan found masses o f L ow density in pancreas, w hile ir reg ular enhancement appear ed in the circumf er ence o r parenchyma o f all tumors in enhanced CT scan sequences .
