a. Coaxiality Coaxiality is a location tolerance showing whether the axial of tolercanced features and the datum axial are in the same axial. In other words, the ideal location of the axial of toleranced features should be the same as that of the datum axial. The tolerance zone is limited by a cylinder with a diameter t and the axial of which is the same as that of the datum. Shown in the above is the symmetry tolerance of a surface related to a datum line. The tolerance zone is limited by two parallel planes a distance t apart which are symmetrically disposed about the datum axis. The median plane of the key slot shown in the above should be contained between two parallel planes a distance 0.1mm apart which are symmetrically disposed about the plane of the datum axis. Conclusions: The location tolerance zone is fixed by TED with respect to datums, i.e. its position is specified and fixed. Circular runout Circular runout tolerance is the maximum allowed readout at any extracted surface indicated in the non-movable guage while the extracted part rotates on the datum axis. Circular runout tolerances applies to different measuring positions and therefore they could be further divided into radial, axial and slant circular run-out tolerances according to different measurement surfaces.
