The methods of electromagnetic wave irradiation w ith proper pow er and frequency and high temperature drying w ere used to sterilize the tradit ional Chinese medicinal pills. Then the number of germs to Chinese medicinal pills after treated by electromagnetic wave radiation and high temperature drying at different t ime was determined through the plating methods. The mechanism of sterilizat ion by electromagnetic wave w as discussed from the velum s voltage variety caused by the outward electric filed, the change of rotational pow er spectrum to watermolecule within a cell of microbe eradiated by electromagnetic wave and the pass rate of the membranaceous ion. The method was effective and safety , taking less time and saving energy compared to high temperature drying. The properties of the medicines were not changed after the treatment.
