This lesson is the second section of the unit and the text mainly tells us the story of a great woman scientist named Jane Goodall. As the most important teaching material, it extends the main topic and contains most of the vocabulary and grammar points that students should learn in this unit. It will help Ss get to know more about Jane’s research and her achievements and learn to describe great women. It will be helpful for them to learn the rest of this unit. (2).Important and difficult points Important point: Get Ss to know more about Jane’s research and her achievements. Difficult point: Enable Ss to make reasonable inference according to the information they have gained. 1.Analysis of teaching material As Senior One students, most of them have got basic abilities of listening, reading, writing and speaking. However, they still need practice to improve their reading abilities and skills, to get the skills of making reasonable inference and to cooperate with their partners. So the lesson is both easy and a challenge to Ss. 2.Analysis of the students To get Ss to learn something about Jane’s research and her achievements.
