When the teacher overdid the correction, students would lose confidence and gave up any effort in despair to avoid making mistakes. His main idea: 1.Knowledge about the subject alone is not sufficient for good teaching. A teacher should also know how a learner learns. 2.Good teaching is also based on teacher’s knowledge of the development routes in learners and pedagogical skills in teaching. William Cory Main idea: The valuable part of education is student’ self-development. Education is not just imparting knowledge or training skills, but developing students’ abilities for his future life. (e.g. grasp academic position instantly; understand other’s thoughts quickly; accept agreements and disagreements with grace；work on details accurately and effectively; have aesthetic taste, distinguish truth/beauty from falsities/evil; have courage and strength etc.) Alan Watts Main ideas: 1.The first wealth is health. The most important part of life is life itself. Just appreciate and cherish life that can never be relived. In short, education should teach students to be true to themselves. 2.I feel that I did not learn those skills or acquire the ability to solve the problems other than literary work that is my field. 3. Actually I missed a most important thing in my education. That is a proper love for my own body. The reason I missed it is that people usually do not pay enough attention to something that is short in life and easy to be sick.
