The earthquake response of the staggered truss-shearw all system, the staggered truss system and the shear w all system are stud ied, then the resu lts of their analyses are compared. The resu lts show that the seism ic performance of the staggered truss-shear w all system is better than that of the later tw o, and the staggered truss- shear w all system not only increases the structural space but also decreases the requ irements of the floor for flexible space structure. M eanwh ile, shearw allm ay balance two-w ay rigidity of the staggered truss system. The staggered truss-shear w all system isw orth further studying its spread and app lication to tall residential building.
