东方红广场?? 东方红广场于1966年修建而成，当时湖南大学的学子们怀着对毛主席的热爱，修建了这个广场，并由湖南大学美术系设计了这座毛主席雕像。长沙总共有两座毛主席雕像?，我们眼前的这座就是其中之一。这个雕像与其它地方的雕像有所不同，毛主席双手背在后面，右脚放前面，放眼东方，正深情地凝望着这片他年青时熟悉不过的土地。东方红广场是湖南省所有大学里面唯一的红色广场,自卑亭和东方红广场在这里重合，湖湘文化与现代文明在这里交汇，使湖湘文化的精神内涵在这里得到了淋漓尽致的表达。2008年6月3号，奥运火炬长沙站的传递就是从我们脚下的东方红广场开始的。2011年12月26日，在人民领袖毛泽东主席诞辰118周年纪念日的当天，东方红广场上奏响了《五星红旗迎风飘扬》。近千名群众聚集到毛主席像前,广场上红旗招展，大家激情唱响《东方红》，表达了对伟人的追思之情。身处在广场之中，我们可以强烈的感受到，东方红广场创造了人性化空间，渲染了浓厚的校园文化，创造了丰富的校园景观，融汇了历史文化、民族文化与校园文化，实现了自然景观与人文景观的完美结合。Dongfanghong Square Dongfanghong Square was built by the students of Hunan university with the love of chairman Mao in 1966, and the statue of chairman Mao was designed by the students of the art department of Hunan university. There are only two statues of Chairman Mao in Changsha. This is one of them in front of us. This statue is different from others. Chairman Mao’s hands are behind his back, and he put his right foot forward, looking to the east, and gazing affectionately at the land that he was familiar with when he was young. Dongfanghong square is the only red square in all the universities of Hunan. Here Dongfanghong square and inferiority pavilion overlapped. Hunan culture flows together with modern civilization which expresses the spiritual connotation of Hunan culture intensively and vividly. On June 3, 2008, Olympic torch relay in Changsha started form this square. On December 26, 2011, the anniversary of our leader chairman Mao’s 118-year-old birthday, the song, “Five-star red flag fluttering in the wind ” ,was palyed on the square . About a thousand people gathered in front of the statue and sang the song “dongfanghong ”with the flag fluttering in the wind on the square, expressing their remembrance of great people . Being here you can strongly feel that Dongfanghong square creates a humanized space, renders dense campus culture, creates rich campus landscape, is of historic culture ,national culture and campus culture ,and realizes the perfect combination of natural landscape and human lands
