ABSTRACT This report describes an escort interpreting practice which content is the commentary of Songyang Academy. The Chinese-English consecutive interpreting is the main form of this escort interpreting practice. This interpreting task was received on August 24th, 2014. The author served as the escort interpreter for four British people in Songyang Academy. Mr. Li Bingxi, who is a retired cadre of Dengfeng city, was the tour commentator of Songyang Academy. This interpreting practice was a Chinese-English consecutive interpreting with three parts involved in, which are four foreign travelers, the tour commentator and the interpreter. This report analyzes the influence factors and the difficulties in this interpreting practice. Meanwhile, the interpreting difficulties are discussed in detail in this report. Through analyzing the influence factors and the difficulties of this interpreting task, the author summarizes the corresponding interpreting strategies and the solutions. The main body of this report starts from the description of this interpreting task, which contains how the author received this task, the brief description of interpreting content, and the meaning of this task. Then the author introduces the process of interpreting, which contains pre-interpreting preparation, temporal interpreting draft, post-interpreting introspection and the final draft. As for the cases analysis, this report has discussed and analyzed how the author dealt with the difficulties met in her practice. These difficulties involve the interpreting of construction terminology, the interpreting of cultural-bound words, the interpreting of Chinese poems
