9.1 Why does listening seem so difficult ?
As technology advances and exchanges between countries increase,it is becoming more and more imporant to understand spoken english in many situations such as face to face,on the telephone,inbusiness meetings, lectures,television,and so on.
Among the four skills[listening,speaking,reading,and writing],foreign language learners often complain that listening is one of the most difficult skills to acquire.
Quickly forget what is heard.
Do not recognise words we know.
Understand the words but not the intended message.
Neglect the next part when thinking about meaning.
Unable to form a mental representation from words heared.
Do not understand subsequent parts of input because of earlier problems.
