In this study, nine buildings located on the soft, medium and firm site are selected to investigate and identify the site frequency based on the earthquake records by the Strong Motion Monitoring System of Central Weather Bureau. First, SRIM (System Realization Using Information Matrix) system identification technique is applied to identify the modal frequencies of the buildings. Some spectral analysis techniques using earthquake response records at roof and basement of the buildings are then employed to distinguish the frequencies between the superstructure and the site.
