Its energy comes from electricity. Where does our energy come from? (Energy is the power that makes things work.) Perhaps without electricity our lives will not be interesting. Now let us talk about electricity. What is it? Electricity is the power which is produced by rubbing (friction), by a machine called a generator or by chemical means (e.g. a battery). Can we see it ? No, it’s a kind of energy that we cannot see. It’s invisible. Can we touch it? No, we can’t. We may get an electric shock. It’s dangerous. Power stations pylons home Do you know how electricity comes to us? The pylons carry wires. Wires carry electricity. Electricity comes into our flats through thin wires, and the thin wires are connected to thick wires. The thick wires are called cables and they are buried underground. Cables are connected to power stations. Power stations make electricity. Homework: Go over the vocabulary items and recite them.
