Secondly, English is widely used in contemporary society. It is vital for students to learn English. Thirdly, during my practice, I observe a gap between high-achieving students and backward students in learning English. And some teachers may neglect backward students’ education work. As a result, the backward students may drop out the course. These propel me to research the subject further. The significance of this thesis is to discuss some effective ways of improving backward students’ study motivation.
