This work is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution International License (CC BY). /licenses/by/4.0/ Open Access Abstract Objective: To explore the therapeutic effect of Wen Gardenia Ellis dosage on ulcerative colitis and appropriate treatment dose. Method: 48 SD rats ulcerative colitis model were inoculated using DNCB/acetic acid method. After determining the successful models, they were randomly divided into low, medium and high dose dosage Wen Gardenia group, SASP positive control group and saline control group which were given their corresponding treatments. The morphology, immunology and pathology findings were used to explore the dosage of Wen Gardenia Ellis on ulcerative colitis. Re- sults: After the treatment, the group of rats treated with Wen gardenia had symptoms and signs which were improved when compared to the saline group, and the high dose group had the most significant improvement in the treatment of ulcerative colitis; under scanning electron microscope: colonic cell surface was smooth; pathology showed that the mucosal structure of rats that had the Wen Gardenia treatment was restored; cell structure
