2007 44(2) 　Chine e Bulletin of Entomology ·223 ·　 ＊ ＊＊ 杨秋生 　王　军　王小平　荣秀兰　雷朝亮 (　　430070) ＊ Effect of temperature on development in Sericinus montel us .YANG Qiu-Sheng , WANG Jun, WANG Xiao- Ping, RONG Xiu-Lan, LEI Chao-Liang＊＊(Institute of Insect Resources, Huazhong Agricultural University, Wuhan 　 430070, China) Abstract 　Sericinus montelus Gray wa inve tigated in Wuhan area and effect of temperature on it development were mea ured.The re ult howed that thi butterfly could complete 6 generation from April to Augu t, and overwinter a pupa from the end of September to the end of March of next year in Wuhan.Within the range of 15 ～ 35 ℃combined with a photoperiod of 14L ∶10D, egg hatching, urvival of larva and pupa wa the highe t at 25, 25 and 20 ℃re pectively.The developmental period of egg , larvae and pupae decrea ed ignificantly with temperature increa ing.Optimal temperature for development ranged from 20 to 35℃.Moreover, the developmental thre hold temperature of the egg , larvae and pupae wa e timated a (8.7 ±2.5), (11.9 ±6.0)and (6.9 ±1.8)℃, re pectively.The effective accumulative temperature the egg , larvae and pupae are(82.5±5.1), (222.2 ±39.5) and (178.7±7.3)degree-day , re pectively.
